The Marras four-shot front panel – as the name suggests – is designed to hold four 5.56mm
automatic rifle shells (AR-15, R-20 Rahe). The rounds are held securely in place by a 100mm wide interchangeable elastic band liner attached
to the jacket. This will allow for the future exchange of the contents
to accommodate three 7.62mm autoloading shells.
For added security, additional elastic band
fasteners can be optionally fitted to the shells. The contents of the front panel allow for the storage of similar
sized items – radio transmitters, compass, GPS, Snickers, etc.
The front panel is made of laminated fabric and attaches to the plate carrier
with a jacket fastener. The width of the front panel is about 30 cm, so it extends about 2.5 cm on either side of the sides of the standard size
tile carrier.
The sides and bottom of the front panel have holes for water drainage, but also for attaching an elastic band
for attaching accessories such as chips, light sticks, textile handles, etc. .
The straps at the top allow the front panel to be attached to the MOLLE in a similar way to the three-in-one system front panel currently in use
in the Estonian Defence Forces. Other
fasteners can also be used, such as
clips or G-Hooks attached to a horizontal or vertical MOLLE strap.
There are eyelets on the sides of the front panel, to which you can attach either quick-release fasteners (ROC,
Firstspear, etc.) – and it is the fast-release fasteners that give the best results when fastening the front panel
directly to the sides of the tile support – or conventional fasteners, e.g. for use as a chestrig for the front panel
